Protection of technological heritage and know-how
In order to protect the technical/scientific heritage matured over the years by our company, the technical information contained in these pages is of a general nature, and deliberately does not go into specifics regarding many constructional/conceptual aspects, as these are liable to be replicated by competitor companies. Should you require further information concerning the machines or their working methods, please contact our technical department, which will be pleased to provide further information.

The result of almost 70 years of experience in the field, the TGV series is the reference point for brass heating and combines heating quality and productivity, which are essential to be competitive on the market, because today, more than ever, producing well is as important as producing a lot.

The technology used is the result of numerous tests and experiences carried out over the years, which have always seen us committed to the development of our offer.

The technical solutions we have adopted are the answer to the process challenges of our customers, who are in the front line to meet the market demands.

The result of this work is a reliable, energy-efficient, flexible, solid and easy-to-use machine.

Reliability

Reliability for Maestri means combining construction quality and process quality, i.e. adopting the best available technology to obtain the best possible result without the thought of machine downtime.

A well-made machine is a machine that over time maintains process quality combined with a reduction in downtime due to faults.

Maestri uses top quality materials and components to give the customer the best in terms of performance and durability over the years.

Maintenance

Thanks to our experience we can design a machine that takes maintenance into account and makes it one of its strong points.

The accessibility to the machine components is engineered to make maintenance operations as easy as possible.

Energy efficiency

Every m³ of gas counts, especially when it comes to energy bills.

Maestri has always equipped its furnaces with the heat recovery unit, a system that uses the energy of the exhaust fumes through an air/air exchanger to heat the comburent air used for combustion.

This system allows to save between 20% and 30% of gas in production.

The comburent air is generated by fans managed independently by means of inverters, which allow to save electricity, but above all to regulate in a punctual and precise way the insufflation power of the plant, maintaining a stoichiometric combustion ratio at all working speeds, avoiding bottlenecks and turbulence inside the collector system.

The efficiency varies depending on the mode and operating temperature.

Column and push system

Completely made in our mechanical department, it guarantees the precision of the assemblies and the accuracy of the selection and rejection systems in the loading part of the furnace.

Heating chamber

The chamber of our furnaces is built by Maestri following a consolidated production process that goes from the selection of the most suitable refractory/insulating mixture, studied with our technological partners, to the preparation of the moulds by our workers, to the casting, and to the drying according to a procedure that since the ’50s has guaranteed to our chambers a higher reliability and durability over time, as well as the possibility to quickly bring the chamber to temperature at the beginning of the day; in this way the furnace can push at maximum power, given the stability acquired by the refractory elements.

The heating is carried out with high-speed gas burners (methane or lpg), designed and produced by Maestri, equally divided inside the chamber in order to obtain a uniform heating while allowing an independent regulation on each track.

The mixture distribution system is completely designed, built and tested by our personnel, including the burner heads of our in-house production in special alloy.

Heating softly, controlling and keeping constant the working atmosphere allows to have a shiny surface of the pieces and does not deform their metallographic structure, which translates into greater sliding properties in the mold, increasing its life and reducing cleaning operations, producing less oxide (abrasive).

The new type of tracks, consisting of modular pieces in silicon carbide, provide greater temperature resistance, up to 1650° C, great smoothness, less oxidation of the material and eliminate the problem of deformation of the old tracks in refractory steel.

The 500mm long modules are very simple and easy to handle and store.

Thermal regulation by means of Optical Pyrometer

Temperature reading directly on the billets in passage. The fiber optic reading head detects the temperature of the last billets inside the furnace chamber, with the possibility for the operator to set directly on the display of the optical pyrometer the required temperature of the billets.

Process supervisor system

Complete does not mean complex.

The heating process has many parameters to be monitored, and in order to obtain a qualitatively satisfactory and constant result, it is necessary to act on them.

Our system takes on all the variables that could send the operator into a panic. A software that knows what to do in emergency situations allows you to use one operator on multiple machines.

Load and production rate adjustment processes can be linked to an item number and the machine can adjust itself, limiting the operator’s movements from the press area to the machine loading area.

The furnace can be connected to the press, which in turn gets components according to its working speed.
